Wirecard AG on growth track
- Significant rise in sales revenues, EBIT and earnings per share
- Ongoing growth in core business segment of electronic payment processing

Munich/Grasbrunn; April 8, 2008 – Wirecard AG successfully continued its
growth in fiscal 2007. Both sales revenues and EBIT saw a substantial
increase from quarter to quarter. Group sales revenues were up by 64
percent, from TEUR 81,940 to TEUR 134,168. The primary contribution to this
clearly positive development was made by the core segment of Electronic
Payment und Risk Management (EPRM). The extraordinarily positive results of
the previous year, with an increase in earnings before interest and taxes
(EBIT), was exceeded once again in the year under review by 78 percent. In
the Group, Wirecard AG generated EUR 33,1 million in EBIT and improved its
EBIT margin to 25 percent (previous year: 23 percent).
The decisive reasons for this were a significant increase in the company’s
core business and the successful market launch of new products. The number
of shares issued rose to reach 81,429,915 in the course of the year until
December 31, 2007. Earnings per share for fiscal 2007 amounted to EUR 0.38
(previous year: EUR 0.20).
Business strategy was geared to the extension of existing fields of
activity and comprehensive use of synergies within the group of companies
as a whole. In the process, Wirecard AG clearly benefited from its
value-added depth and the flexibility of its technical platform. With
several international locations in its target markets, the Wirecard Group
is securing a unique competitive position in a market environment that
remains strongly characterized by local requirements, as in the past.

For fiscal 2008, Wirecard AG expects its earnings before interest and taxes
